On the morning of Friday 15 July, we met with representatives from NELC who put forward their “final” proposals on cuts to terms and conditions as part of the current round of budget cuts.
There remain essentially six proposals which in brief comprise:
Essential Car User
Proposal much as previously, with an increase in the qualifying mileage to 2,300
Subsistence (meals, etc)
Proposal remains to cease reimbursement for meals.

Superior Seafoods closure hits Grimsby jobs
A Grimsby fish processing business employing more than 60 people has closed down.
Superior Seafoods ceased trading on Wednesday and all of its employees are now out of work, the Grimsby Fish Merchants Association has confirmed.
The family-run firm had been trading in the town for 40 years.
The association chairman, Chris Sparkes, said: “I asked the [owners] what the on-going plans are and they said they won’t know until next week.”

A WELL-KNOWN former solicitor has been cleared of dishonesty over his involvement in alleged “suspicious” property transactions.
