New chief set to take over reins
Mr Hunter is expected to take up the role in September

The top post at North East Lincolnshire Council is expected to be filled when councillors meet to confirm the appointment of a new chief executive.
Tony Hunter, 54, from East Yorkshire, will take over as the top officer of North East Lincolnshire Council following a meeting on Wednesday.
The previous chief executive, George Krawiec, stood down from his job at the end of April.
Mr Krawiec took over when the authority was dubbed “the worst in England”.
When Mr Krawiec decided to leave his post the council said: “During his time at North East Lincolnshire Council, the authority went from officially being judged the ‘worst council in Britain’, with zero stars in the Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA), to a judgement of two stars with an ‘improving well’ direction of travel.”
Previous experience
Tony Hunter has held the post of executive director of community services at Liverpool City Council and he is expected to take up his new post in September.
He comes to the authority with a number of senior local government roles under his belt having worked at Liverpool City Council for six years and eight years at East Riding of Yorkshire council as director of social services, housing and public protection.
Councillor Andrew De Freitas, leader of North East Lincolnshire Council, said: “I am greatly pleased to welcome Tony to the borough. He has an excellent track record and will bring the skills and experience needed to make a real difference to the lives of local people.”
Mr Hunter said he was keen to take on the challenges faced by the authority: “This is an exciting time to join a council very much on its way up.”
