    CONTROVERSIAL plans to build 38 homes on greenfield land in Cleethorpes have been resubmitted to council planning bosses – to the dismay of neighbouring residents.

    Stamford Homes has also launched an appeal against North East Lincolnshire Council‘s decision to refuse a previous planning application for land in Hampton Court, off Curzon Avenue.

    As reported, councillors rejected the plans in June because of concerns over the scale of the project and the potential impact it could have on homeowners in surrounding roads.

    Other concerns raised by residents included the low number of parking spaces and the potential for flooding because of poor drainage.

    Now Stamford Homes has lodged an appeal against the decision with the national Planning Inspectorate and has also resubmitted an amended planning application for the site.

    Stamford Homes North managing director Ian Hessay said the new application “addressed” the original reasons for refusal.

    The number of allocated car parking spaces has been increased from 58 to 72, and extra details on the drainage plans have been provided.

    But residents claim the development is still too intensive and have vowed to continue to fight the plans.
